EDGE, a prominent global technology group specializing in unmanned and autonomous systems, unveiled three groundbreaking remotely piloted vehicles during the Unmanned Systems Exhibition and Conference (UMEX) and Simulation and Training Exhibition (SimTEX) 2024. As UMEX’s Strategic Partner for the sixth consecutive year, EDGE showcased its commitment to advancing UAE-designed and manufactured autonomous technology to meet the evolving demands of international customers. The new platforms, purpose-built to excel in demanding environments, span critical roles in tactical intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance (ISR), and logistics support.

Mansour Al Mulla, Managing Director and CEO of EDGE Group, emphasized the significance of UMEX, stating, “UMEX is a premier global event in the unmanned systems sector, providing an ideal platform for EDGE to showcase its latest portfolio of advanced remotely piloted and autonomous solutions. Our pride in being the event’s Strategic Partner for the third time is evident as we introduce groundbreaking products designed to offer our customers technologically advanced and cost-effective force multipliers across various domains.

This reinforces EDGE’s unwavering dedication to developing a comprehensive range of capabilities that substantially contribute to fortifying forward-thinking sovereign defense ecosystems.” The GY300, designed for short take-off and landing (STOL) on challenging, unprepared terrain, stands out as an exceptional unmanned logistics autogyro. This autonomous aerial vehicle boasts low maintenance and high reliability, efficiently transporting payloads of up to 300kg at a remarkably low operational cost.

The BUNKER PRO, an agile and high-performance unmanned ground vehicle (UGV), offers fully autonomous functionalities, including remote surveillance, exploration, platooning, target identification, and perimeter patrol. This UGV redefines the landscape of unmanned land operations. The M-BUGGY, a versatile wheeled UGV, leverages state-of-the-art imaging and sensor technology to provide actionable ISR data. Live demonstrations featuring the M-BUGGY will take center stage at the ADNEC Grandstand Area, showcasing its prowess in land systems.

Exports also reached an all-time monthly high and extended their year-on-year growth streak to 11 months. The 23.2% increase followed a 19.3% rise in June. Demand for semiconductor-related products remained strong, supported by investment connected with artificial intelligence and data centres. A weaker yen also raised the yen value of overseas sales and made Japanese products cheaper for some foreign buyers. The export performance exceeded the pace recorded during the previous month.
